Boss...

Our big boss or should I say the most powerful person in the office was leaving yesterday. Before joining our department, she already retired and eventually got offered to be the Director General for another good 3 years on contract basis. Frankly, this is the least favourite person in the office, you know, boss will always be boss. Being bossy all around, shouting, throwing tantrums and so on. Whenever anyone of us gets scolded in her room or during meetings, we were just making fun out of it and never took anything to heart because she is the boss and she's old, we must respect the elder she did what the boss should do. The weather will be gloomy when she’s around and the moment she entered the office will go silent. Nah ,I lied. She’s strict and firm with the staff and there times we were annoyed by her antics, but at the end, she would be the person that we look up to for advice regarding work and sometimes on personal matters.

We used to count the day when she’ll be leaving the office for good. And the day somehow arrived yesterday. So the office threw her a surprise farewell. I’m not sure whether this is a farewell party or literally a party to “celebrate” her departure because the meeting room suddenly was full of blue and white balloons.

the least we cld do is to wear blue and white for the farewell..;p

sorry for the face 'pixelating'.

My jaw dropped when she mentioned her plan after retiring. She's going to do chambering. I mean seriously, at 59 years old??!! She must be kidding. She'll be the 'bossiest' chambee student ever..haha. But there’s no limit in learning and I hope she’ll finish it until called to the Bar.

New big boss coming in and it’s time to test the water. I hate this part.I can smell death, need my life jacket then.Duh. The rest can wait but let's just enjoy the weekend first...

Leaving...

I'm leaving the firm..i'm leaving all the bitter-sweet memories in here.My last day would be on Monday and after that i'm going to discover another new workload and definitely new environment..completely different..I'll be missing courts, court's friends, my boss etc etc. It's kind of sad when you're happy and quite satisfied with your life right now but you have to leave them for your own good.

A poem should be enough then..;)

I’m leaving soon
Needless to say that I'm going my very own way.
From this moment on
I make my own choices.
I knew I would not stay

But still, I thought time
Should have passed so slowly.
Another month,another years have gone.
Now I know I was wrong,
Wrong to wish
That it would end,
Possibly just blend.
Blend like the wind.
Colorless
Can’t feel, cant see, cant be there.
And I wish it would still be with me.
Although it is,
But it isn’t the same.
Even if those memories make me sane.

Some place that cannot offer me anything anymore.
It’s done , over.
I’m in the process of crossing my own finish line.
And,
I couldn’t be any happier.

This place is my belief.
The center of my mind.
Its why I am the way I am today.

Needless to say,
I am sad... But so proud.
I’m going my own way. =)

Finger crossed and wish me luck..^_^

Tensi tension...

I'm so pissed off. Well, I'm not suppose to write bad things about people in my blog and had promise to stop 'komplen' with anything related to WORK but I just can't. I have to vomit certain things out in here so I can concentrate with my work then. What would you do if your boss is such an annoying lady who always chases your butt even when u stick it to your chair. Though she's not the one who directly pay my salary but still..i'm under her supervision.Extremely under her supervision.

She's particularly don't do anything bad towards me but sometimes her "I'm the boss here anyway" attitude is just super annoying.. This lady currently not in speaking term with my clerk and she drags me along with this problem. She asked me to stay away from this clerk and instead of neutralize everything to normal as a boss she just make things worst. She's been so paranoid of the whole thing, and whenever the clerk get into my room to send files and asks questions relating to work, she keeps buzzing my phone asking what the clerk told me as if we have nothing else to do but bitching her. She said she want to 'pressure' the clerk to leave the firm by any means that her immature little brain can think of. Now I'm bitching her since she asked me to move to another room so she can see whether the clerk has guts to talk to me about her again.Of cos not a single word. Because by using her absolute veto power, she forced me to move into HER ROOM!!!she'd put extra table in!!!Psychoo..

I need some space and air.I feel I want to scream and bitching at her but those words only echoed in my heart..duh.

Feng Shui???

Just got back from Bangi court, feel a little bit upset when the judge urged me to withdraw my case today.Urgh,i hate judges..

As I walked into the office today,I noticed some new stuff in my room.At first i thought this has something to do with the Chinese New Year mood but the office manager told me that the feng shui master asked her to do so.She claimed that my room is a 'cronic area' where the bad spirit lies..what the...??So she put these:

the red cushion on my chair.

this vase where they called it 'pokok duit' ( in order to bring some 'ong' to the office)

this lamp..i dont know what it is called.I was told to keep it on 24 hours, but i switch it off..haha

the red rug under my table...??

...and I'm not that curious to inquire her the rational and the purpose of each stuff above as far as feng shui is concerned.Ok, my big boss is so much into this feng shui stuff where he believes that feng shui is a theory which affects your surroundings and environment n causes many subtle changes to your mental state. And according to him, somehow it also affects the profit and the prosperity of the office. I've been informed that for this 2008 feng shui,my table cannot face north..I found this thing is seemingly innocuous trend but to say that my room is a cronic area relating to this feng shui thingy is a total nonsense, and plus he said all these things are needed to get rid of all the bad spirits..heh.. and ironically, my boss is a Muslim+ Malay, and so is my office manager.

Relating to this feng shui stuff, I guess there is a logic to the fact that your environment affects you for e.g.in terms of the arrangement of the furniture n so on but I don’t believe in Feng Shui as the people who practise it- cos i think they are totally superstitious.Muslims are taught to put their trust in Allah and I’m just glad that i dont have to invest in the feng shui master to ensure prosperity in my life.Allah knows best.

Do you believe in feng shui??

My own love feng shui said that I have to be more expressive in loving someone in order to make myself happy..(^^)

Wake me up when September ends...

Sorry blog, I totally neglected you and didn't feel the slightest inclination whatsoever to update you. It was only when someone mentioned about it, I begin to think of you..hehe..Hmm rambling thoughts for today...Oh yes, few weeks ago I've tendered my one month resignation notice to my boss..Looking at my straight face when I expressed my intention,he was a little bit shocked about it,almost jumped off his seat...and definitely I got a very long and thorough lecture from him which can be easily forgotten since I didnt even listen to what he said, and didnt install a single word from him in my head.

He asked me to have a second thought, but I just couldn't give a damn about it anymore..He may think I'm pretty selfish person and others may question my credibility, my certainty towards something by jumping firm to another or whatsoever but I dont feel any guilt in my mind for that and just want to get out of the firm as soon as possible. It's a normal practise or custom to the firm, lawyers come and go, so I'm positively sure he can find another lawyer who can follow the firm's ridiculous way after all..huhuh.

Sadly,I totally couldn't get any work done for today and just felt like surfing the net all day long for e.g finding another firm and blogging...Besides doing my normal works to the firm,I'm counting days to say goodbye..When September ends..I'm free...tada..;) Oh and today my mum's birthday,Happy 50th Birthday umi..

MOOD: HAKUNA MATATA and hakuna matata means no worries..!!oh yeah..

Pray as if it will be your last prayer, Work like you don't need money, Love like you've never been hurt before and Dance like nobody is watching..err whatever..

Untitled 2...

Disclaimer: a crap, not worth reading!

The past month has been a difficult one for me when suddenly I realised that I 've been working in this firm like a d*g for like two, no, three months already.True, they're just like ordinary works that lawyers have to do like going to court, preparing and signing the documents etc but instead of doing that ordinary job, I perceived that I was forced to indulge myself with the extraordinary ones..Some of my friends which I met at court will have their jaw dropped when I disclosed my 'poor' story to them.Yeah, have to, cos I cant keep it for myself for the time being or otherwise it's going to explode like a time bomb..And their advice..just leave the firm.Something at the back of my head tells me that if I were to leave the firm, I still not certain what will happen in the new one since I cannot foresee them..as Malay said 'keluar mulut buaya masuk plak mulut singa..heh..Seriously said, it's sickening me...

Just trying to be positive, perhaps I've to be more patient and to keep holding on a little bit longer. We'll see what happen since I promised myself to stop complaining but it's hard to do so..And just hate the fact that now I'm browsing thru the Bar Council website to find another legal firm..sabarla aja oii...!

To conclude, its not uncommon to hear that u love the job but hate the works..haha..

See, told u its not worth reading!

...one more thing...:)
...guess I'm giving my heart away...full stop.

Just a moment...

Phew..tiring day..at last I found some space and time to write something in this blog..it was only when my boss and everybody had already left the office leaving me alone with these continously unfinished business. And now I'm taking a deep breath trying to focus what should I write in this blog.My life had been so busy these past few weeks,my boss keeps bugging me to do this and that,I've to go to court, go out for meetings, taking instructions from client, and by the time I reached my office, I already exhausted and unable to finish my work properly. The files keep on piling and I am clueless which one to start first..stressful..and the only thing I can do right now is blogging..heheh.

And my mom kept calling me checking if I'm still in the office at this hour trying to remind me again and again that my life might not be this miserable if I just become a teacher..haha..Well life is not that complicated, it is how you manage it but I'm not good at it when I tend to take things seriously, worrying too much about everything..huhu..forget about it..

At least..a day jalan2 spent over the last weekend had relinquished a bit the painful stress..feeling hungry..hmm a slice piece of pizza would be enough..^^

Chambering-Ghazi & Lim Dihatiku..

My nine months chambering period is over. You know, chambering is a 9 months period where you must undergo before becoming a qualified lawyer. As a pupil or so called chambie, you are expected to work as hard as a qualified lawyer (or if unlucky most of the times even harder) with very low amount of salary/ allowance. Yeah, cheap labour I say.Time ticking so fast, and finally it’s just over. Now I'm free.. can’t believe that right now I’m home on the second day of the week, alone, watching EPL Highlights (man u is damn good) while plucking on my sister’s guitar. Off beat.

Still wondering what the heck am I doing right now if its a working hour. Imagining myself walking from court to the office with files and black shoes that hurt my feet so much, or sitting in front of the PC listening to my rumbling stomach before the lunch hour. Those disastrous, not so torturing days finally over.

Glad, now that I'm unemployed..some unnecessary things had been boggling my mind lately while still considering several working offers (being so picky in choosing the best firm that suits me and really hate it)..lawyer to be?Urghh...

Whatever it is, Ghazi & Lim tetap dihatiku..hahah..(faking smile)

those days..tinggallah Bie a.k.a Lorraine seorang diri..

Heaven..I'm far away from those noisy and dizzy Raja Chulan, Bukit Bintang streets, those alienate atmosphere..at least for a moment. I wipe the smile off my face and heave a sigh...Sometimes silence can be most comforting....

The mistake I will not repeat...

Yesterday I went to court and by the time I arrived at the bankruptcy department it was still early in the morning. Making people bankrupt is one of the scopes of work which lawyers keen to do. I was among the first as I noticed only 2 or 3 lawyers with the always boring black and white outfits were there, and I expect that my matter will settle earlier so I can straight away go to the Bar Council library to do some research for my master. I approached the clerk at the counter hoping that I can get an early turn but she asked me to check the list of cases on the notice board, and to my surprise my firm’s turn is on number 49 - meaning the last case to be called up. Heh, what the h*** am I doing here in the morning when my turn will only be called in the late afternoon. Can someone just change the rules to the first come first serve basis so it will not abuse the right of those who came earlier.huhuh. I have this kind of submissive attitude (which is not good), so I decided to wait.

Time flipping fast like pages in the book and I realised that I had procrastinated too much time sitting and waiting at the corner of the room. The room was crowded with lawyers who were waiting for their cases to be called before the Senior Assistant Registrar. I glanced at the lawyer beside me who was snoozing soundly; the one in front of me was busily whispering over the phone while I myself kept stretching my legs and covering my mouth to muffle a yawn. The big clock struck 12 times, breaking the silence, my empty stomach rumbled asking to be filled since it was almost lunch hour and I haven’t had my breakfast yet.

There was no sign for my turn to be called up and I was extremely bored so I stuffed my ears with the earphones and switched on my mp3. The sound of my favourite song vibrated my eardrums, tapping one foot as I closed my eyes and hummed to the tune softly. Suddenly I felt something was not right. I opened my eyes and all eyes were actually staring and looking straight in my direction. Some were smiling and some were giving me a reproving look. It was embarrassing, and yet humiliating. Haha I wasn’t humming to the beat, I was actually singing. And everybody was like SHHHH…!!!

Moral: Don’t be 'deafened' by a loud music at the wrong place. That’s the mistake I will not repeat.

Gonna miss 'em all...

I'm counting days to balik next week. cant wait. But I have these butterflies in my stomach about next week..takotnye..huhu.Yesterday I was soo freaking exhausted... need to be in 3 different courts at the same time. Thank God I managed to do it..but I missed my precious time with those accused in criminal court. Tak pelah since firm matters are more important.

Yesterday was also my last day doing dock brief...doing criminal matters.I'm gonna
miss them all. Gonna miss my weekly duty in Legal Aid Centre,my court friends, the police officers, the smelly smells in the lock-up and all the accused fella.Next year all courts will be moving to a new building at Jalan Duta. I'll be missing this Sultan Abdul Samad building. The old place I used to go every week.I heard they will make this building a museum.not sure yet.But I'm just proud that I have sweet n sour memories in here n being part of the history..heheh..hmm..I'm seriously gonna miss them all.

The most boring weekend ever. Working week and my aunt went to Kelantan for 3 days..tinggal sorang lagi..huhu..nak balik..

To a friend, voice out the feelings in your heart is not wrong if that can makes u feel better..but the problem is just me...really hope u understand that..The heart has its reasons which reason knows not of...

Saturday Sauna...

Saturday always used to be my favourite day but not when it demanding me to go to office in the morning on this day. So here comes the taboo for me which will appear 2-3 times in a month--working on Saturday.I hate Saturday especially when I cant go back to my hometown, forcing myself to stay in this polluted city (a friend called it concrete jungle) and plus, I have to sit in front of the computer finishing my unfinished business. But thank God this week, me and a friend purposely registered our name in this 'potentially boring' law seminar on Saturday morning so we can construct a very smart and reasonable excuse for not being able to go to office on that day. And the reason was surely convincing enough. A very brilliant idea from Syitah.Haha.. (wink wink)

So we went to the seminar at KL Bar. The talk was presented by a lawyer Mr Michael Soo. Well, a pretty interesting topic I can say, about practical aspects of registration and intellectual property rights, trademarks and bla... bla. However, I must admit that everytime I went to the seminar like this,no matter how hard I tried and how interesting the discussion was, I could only listen attentively for about less than an hour, and the rest... either daydreaming or falling half asleep..huhu.. Fuhgedabouidit.

Actually, we have decided earlier to go for a sauna at the Traders Hotel in the afternoon. Mind you, it was a free sauna, since Lorraine's bro stayed in the hotel; we dont have to pay a single cent unless you want to try the spa. The Traders Hotel is just about 10 minutes walking from KLCC, so off we went there. It was raining lightly when we reached at the sauna room and such a perfect time to have a peace of mind. The room was small, cozy and warm and after changing, 3 of us shoved ourselves inside. We sat in there trying to relinquish everything that blocking our mind; the pressure in court yesterday seemed to fade away from my mind, relaxing, whiles the room getting warmer and hotter. Our faces went flushed and we were sweating quite fast bcoz of the high temperature of the room and it made me feel healthier, honestly.( u sweat a lot like u've been circling around the school field 10 times but the different is you're not that tired). We sat in there for quite sometimes and get out of the room before we got steamed inside. I believe u should give a try as well.

After 'lepaking' in Lorraine's room, we went to KLCC again and since the year end sale is not here yet so no use for window shopping when u have limited RM in your pocket, I spent time with Moja sitting behind the bookshelves reading inspirational and motivational books at Kinokuniya for hours (trust me I am not a bookworm type and not that boring person..haha). I returned home at nite with smile stapled to my face thinking that at least today my working day was not as boring as I thought it would be. A bunch thanx to u girls:

Syitah- at least I don't have to sit in the seminar alone.
Lorraine- thanks for inviting me to that sauna-really had a great time
Moja- Nice to know u. I don't know u love cats and inspirational books too ..hehe

Have I told u that the skies are perfectly blue and the fluffy clouds are like white swans floating in the sky? No more haze.yay! \(^_^)/
